Porozovo. The Church of St. Michael the Archangel.
The town of Porozovo has a history of 5 centuries. It had Magdeburg law, and several architectural monuments have survived to our time.
The first Catholic parish in Porozovo arose in the 16th century. The church was originally made of wood. A stone Catholic church was built in 1825-1828. The building is built of brick and rubble stone.
The building is rectangular in plan, which is covered with a gable roof. The main facade is decorated with 4 pilasters and is completed with a triangular pediment. The entablature is a part of the church between the pediment and the main volume, decorated according to the type of ancient temples.
The interior of the church is one-nave hall. There are three carved altars and an ambo, which are decorated with wooden sculptures from the 18th century. According to one version, the pulpit symbolizes Noah's Ark. The ceiling is wooden, flat. There are choirs with an organ above the entrance. The church is surrounded by a stone fence with a gate. There are several bells in the gate, including an ancient bell from 1749 with an inscription and engraving.
The church was restored several years ago. The area near the temple is decorated with flowers and ornamental trees with shrubs. The church is an architectural monument.
