Porechye. Church of the Kazan Mother of God.

In the village of Porechye, Grodno region, near the railway itself, there is a wooden Orthodox church, which was consecrated in honor of the Kazan Mother of God.

There are several architectural, historical monuments and even a couple of museums in the village. Moreover, the first railway station in Belarus is located in this town. After all, the first railway passed through here in the 19th century along the Vilno–Grodno line. Life has been bustling around the railway here since the 19th century.

In 1899, the authorities gave permission for the construction of the Pushkin School. The Orthodox Church in Porechye and the Ministry of Transport donated a lot of money.

Since 1919, the city was part of the Polish state until 1939, before the arrival of Soviet power. During Polish times, Porechye was the center of the gmina in the Grodno district of the Belostok voivodeship.

After joining the BSSR in 1939, it became the center of the Porechye district of the Belostok region.

It is not known exactly when the first church was built. The ancient temple burned down during a fire in 1863. In 1897, they decided to build a new church, and fundraising for the shrine began. Already in 1901, the new wooden church was consecrated.

The monument has a rectangular elongated building, which is covered with a hip roof. A four-pointed bell tower is built above the vestibule, which is completed with a high four–sided hipped roof and a small onion dome. A wide quadrangle with a multi–faceted drum and an onion dome is built above the main volume.
