Polonechka. Yuryev Church.

Polonechka was mentioned for the first time in the 16th century. The heyday of Polonechka was during the time of the Radzivills in the 18th and 19th centuries, when a palace-park ensemble was built. A wooden church was built on a hill not far from the palace. The first Catholic church was built in 1751 and was rebuilt twice in the 19th century. In plan, the building is rectangular with a pentagonal apse. On the main facade there are 2 four-sided multi-tiered towers. The side facades are decorated with high pointed windows. Buttresses are made in the walls. In the interior, there are choirs with a 19th century organ. The main altar is two-tiered with carvings and gilding. In the interior there are 2 memorial plaques dedicated to princes Radzivill. It is believed that the scientist and public figure, national hero of Belarus and Chile Ignat Domeiko (1802 - 1889) was baptized in this church. Old burials remained near the temple. From the church there is a road to Ishkold', where the remains of a water mill have been preserved on the left side.
