Polonechka. Radziwill Palace.
Since the 15th century, the village of Polonechka belonged to the magnates Olshansky. And then to the Glebovichs and the Rudomin-Dusyatsky family. And from the 17th century to 1939 it belonged to the magnates Radziwill.
In the 18th century, the city began to develop rapidly thanks to the efforts of Maciej Radziwill (1749-1800). Maciej was a public and political figure, poet and publicist. In 1777, the Radziwills were visited by the famous Russian writer Denis Fonvizin. At that time, the owner here was Maciej's son Konstantin – a political and public figure, folklorist, under whom the current palace was built. Konstantin Radziwill did a lot for the development of education and culture in Belarus.
In 1876, Polonechka was visited by the famous artist and composer Napoleon Orda. Also, the famous Belarusian and Polish writer and poet Vladislav Syrokomlya came to visit Konstantin Radziwill.
The Radziwill Palace was badly damaged during the Revolution and World War II. It was repaired and a secondary school was housed there. The palace and park architectural ensemble was built in the Empire style at the beginning of the 19th century. The palace, orangery, entrance gate, mill, park and chapel-tomb were erected. The palace is currently undergoing restoration.
