Pochapovo. The Intercession Church.

A stone Orthodox Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built on the outskirts of the village of Pochapovo, Baranovichi district.

The church was built during the Russian Empire at the expense of the treasury and donations from parishioners. 10,700 rubles of funds were spent from the treasury. Previously, there was a wooden church on this site in 1770, built with the money of the local noble Korsak during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, possibly Uniate.

The new stone shrine was built in 1867 from rubble stone in a retrospective Russian style. In the second half of the 19th century, the parish numbered more than three thousand people. The church had an almshouse and a parish school, a public school, and a chapel church of St. Nicholas in the cemetery.

The temple was burned down during the Great Patriotic War.

For a long time after the war, the only church in the area was St. Nicholas Chapel.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the church began to be rebuilt. In 2006, the church was consecrated. The surrounding area is landscaped. The church is active now.
