Pochaevichi. Ruins of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Today, the Holy Protection Church is just the sad ruins of one of the many abandoned churches and architectural monuments in Belarus. Unfortunately, there are only a few walls left of the temple. You can't go near the ruins.

According to local residents, the building dates back to the 18th century. It is known that the church operated until the 1930s. The parish consisted of 22 villages. There was an unusual icon in the temple - a huge image of Jesus Christ painted directly on the wall.

The temple was able to survive the war. However, in the post-war years, the brick building was dismantled by the residents, despite the fact that a brick factory was operating nearby in the White Church, and the material from the church was stratified, crumbled and poorly suited for new buildings.

It is quite difficult to approach the ruins of the temple. There are private buildings around and not a single path leads to the ruins. You can take a photo from the road.

The lost heritage is located in a beautiful location on a hill. Several surviving walls give a general idea of the size of the temple. It is a pity that this ancient temple could not be preserved.…
