Petrikov Museum of Local Lore.

Since its opening in March 2008, the museum's area has been 157 square meters, of which 58.2 square meters are devoted to exhibitions. The expositions are divided into two directions: one immerses visitors in the history of archeology and ethnography of the Petrikovsky region, the other explores the tragic pages of the Great Patriotic War, the conflict in Afghanistan and the genocide of the region's population. The museum's temporary exhibition halls are located on the upper floor.

On October 1, 2014, the museum of Grandfather Talash became part of the Museum of Local Lore, adding a section on the national hero and the partisan movement. The exhibition presents finds obtained as a result of the Belarusian-American archaeological expeditions. The museum also includes a section on the memory of veterans and victims of the war, added in 2022.

It is very interesting to explore the historical calendar presented here from the Stone Age of the Mesolithic to the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The museum houses sharp-edged arrows and flat spears, chopping axes for hunting game. An Iron Age showcase attracts close attention. These are women's amulets, a Roman iron stud, mushroom-like earrings.

At the heart of the exhibition is a symbol of Polesie life: a dugout boat and fishing gear inextricably linked to the Pripyat River. A visit to the museum opens the curtain to the world of Polesie people (Poleshuks), whose lives were inextricably linked with the water element. The exhibition, dedicated to the life and culture of the region, helps to better understand the traditions and customs, as well as the uniqueness of the Polesie people. This section undoubtedly enriches the museum and makes it important not only as a keeper of historical memory, but also as a religious space reflecting the cultural heritage of Belarus.

The exhibition "Dedicated to the memory of fellow countrymen" allows for a deeper understanding of the tragic and heroic pages of the history of Belarus. She tells about the fates of people who have gone through the trials of wars and repression, and immerses visitors in the atmosphere of those difficult times. Using personal items, letters, and photographs allows you to create a vivid picture of that time, making it more accessible and understandable to visitors.

A separate section dedicated to the guerrilla movement highlights the importance and scale of the glorious resistance in the occupied territories.

The section dedicated to the Afghan war once again recalls the heroism and hard work of soldiers outside their homeland, whose heroism reflects the universal theme of self-sacrifice.

In general, the Petrikov Museum of Local Lore is not just a collection of exhibits. It's a journey into the past, where every detail brings the story to life. The museum also reminds us all of the importance of remembering and respecting those who survived terrible times, and inspires new generations to remember their heritage.
