Description
On the central Petrikov Square, like a modest but proud guardian of history, stands the small Voskresenskaya (Resurrection) chapel. Built in the 19th century, it is a striking example of the retrospective Russian style. Its architecture, despite its small size, is rich in decorative elements typical of this style. Ornamental belts, kokoshniks and bulbous cupola — all this testifies to the skill of the architects of that time.

The small but significant Resurrection Chapel is a valuable architectural monument of the city.
The chapel is, in fact, a surviving part of the once majestic Resurrection Cathedral, which was blown up in 1957.
The Petrikov Resurrection Chapel was built in 1846 in a complex with the Resurrection Church, which was previously recognized as the tallest building in the city of Petrikov. The church and chapel were built by Ukrainian architects from the city of Kremenchug.
In 1929, the bells were removed from the church domes. The church itself was equipped with a cinema and a dance club.
In 1957, the temple was blown up, only the chapel survived. Its preservation is a real miracle, a reminder of Petrikov's rich architectural heritage and the tragic pages of his history. Standing on the central square, it looks like it is looking at a modern city, its central square, preserving the memory of the past.
The small but significant Resurrection Chapel is a valuable architectural monument and an integral part of the historical appearance of Petrikov.
