Peski. Church of the Mother of God Ruzhentsova.

A stone Catholic church has been built in the Mosty district in the center of the village of Peski. The church was consecrated in honor of the Mother of God Ruzhentsova. The village of Peski has been known since the 17th century, since the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. At that time it was the possession of Sapieha.

It was at Sapieha that the first church was built in the 17th or 18th centuries. During the time of the Russian Empire, in 1857, or in 1877, the last wooden Catholic church was erected. The sponsor of the temple was Count Vatslav Krasitski.

In the period 1900-1914, a new stone Catholic church was built on the site of the wooden church at the expense of parishioners. The building was built in the Neo-Gothic style from rubble stone designed by engineer Daniev. Before the Second World War, the parish consisted of one and a half thousand people.

After the war, the church was closed in 1945 and the room was adapted as a grain warehouse. The church was handed over to the faithful only at the end of the existence of the Soviet Union in 1989. Restoration began, which was completed in 1997.

The monument is a single-towered, three-nave basilica-type church with a transept and a pentagonal apse. There are three altars in the interior, which are made in the Neo-Gothic style. The altars were made in 1993 by the artist F. Kuzinsky. The titular main altar of the Mother of God Ruzhentsova. The right altar is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of the Lord Jesus. The left altar is St. Maximilian Kolbe. There are organ choirs.
