Peski. Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

There is a stone Orthodox church of St. Nicholas in the Mosty district in the village of Peski. Peski were first mentioned in historical sources in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

At that time, they were part of the Novogrudok voivodeship of the Volkovysk district. The place belonged to the Sapieha magnates and a castle was built here. After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the town became part of the Russian Empire. In 1833, the village had two wooden churches, 110 houses, 15 drinking houses and other buildings.

In 1868-1870, a stone Orthodox church was erected in the center of the village on the site of an old wooden church, which had decayed from time to time. The new church was built according to the design of Nikolai Tikhvinsky, an architect from Grodno. The funds were spent by the owner of the Mosty estate in the amount of over eight thousand rubles. The church was consecrated in the winter of 1870 and the church is designed for 300 people. In 1899, the church had over two thousand believers from ten villages. The church had a public school and a parish school.

The monument was erected in a retrospective Russian style. The building consists of four main architectural parts: the vestibule, the refectory, the prayer hall and the apse.  The interior is of a communal type. There is a two-tiered iconostasis.

One precious icon from this temple is now in Minsk in the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture. This is the icon of the 17th century "Saint Paraskeva with her life". A stone fence has been erected around the church grounds. There is a stone chapel in front of the church.
