Pervomaiskaya. Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
In the Bereza district, very close to the district center on the railway line, there is a place called Pervomaiskaya. The name is new, but the place itself is ancient. The fact is that until 1964 the name of the place was Bluden'.
For the first time in documents, the Little Bluden' and the Big Bluden' were mentioned in the 16th century. In 1590, the Queen Anna Jagellonka presented Bluden' to magnate the Chancellor Lev Sapieha. In the 17th century, the place belonged to Izabella Chodkiewicz. Then the place was a state-owned, and was considered a separate region (starostvo). After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as part of the Russian Empire and in the 19th century it was the property of Joseph Zdihovsky. In 1890, the town and estate belonged to Sofia Zdihovskaya.
The new stone Orthodox church was built in 1887-1903. The church was consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas. The first church in the village was built back in the 17th century and according to the document there are 2 Orthodox churches mentioned here. In the 19th century, there were 4 Orthodox churches and a chapel. The Alexander Nevsky Church was at the cemetery, and two small churches were erected near the railway station.
St. Nicholas Church was significantly damaged during the First World War. The temple was rebuilt during the years of the Polish state in the 1920s and 1930s. The church was closed in 1939 with the advent of Soviet power. The bell-tower was dismantled, and a bakery was built in the building. The bell tower was rebuilt in the church after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
