Description

The Vislouhov estate in Perkovichi is a two-story manor house built in the late classicism style combined with baroque elements. Construction was started by Zenon Vislouh in 1805 and then continued by his son Viktor. They also laid out a park. A number of outbuildings were erected here in the first half of the 19th century. Opposite the estate was a Uniate church, also built in 1805, which has survived to this day.

An interesting estate with a complex history and destiny.

According to surviving information, there were 17 rooms in the palace. On the first floor, the rooms were furnished with beautiful and majestic pieces of furniture made of valuable wood. On the walls hung paintings from the 18th century, rare tapestries, and on the ceilings - huge chandeliers.

On the second floor of the palace were the "ash" and "white" salons, which were separated by columns. These rooms had stoves made of white tiles, and mahogany furniture. The hall was also decorated with old paintings.

The White Salon was furnished in the style of Louis XIV and had several antique clocks. There was also a library containing a collection of pipes belonging to important personalities and valuable manuscripts.

The history of the Vislouhov estate in Perkovichi was not easy. During the First World War, the estate was heavily damaged, but later it was restored. In Soviet times, the building was significantly redeveloped and the estate house was first used as an orphanage, and later a sanatorium-type boarding school was organized in it.

Only the façade of this building has been preserved in its original form. The old building is bordered by typical Soviet boarding school buildings on both sides. Today, it is home to a boarding school. A very beautiful old park has also been preserved.

Opposite the estate there was a Uniate church, built in 1805, the founder of which was also Zenon Visloukh. Initially, an underground passage was laid to the church from the Visloukh estate, later it was filled in. The creators of the estate, Zenon and Felix, with their wives are buried in the crypt of the church.

The church was active until 1961, then it began to deteriorate, fertilizers were stored in it. The church continued to deteriorate even more under the influence of the Bolsheviks. However, the believers managed to save the church property and icons. In 1990, thanks to the efforts of the local organized parish, the church was restored with donations from parishioners and it was opened that same year. Today, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is active. The temple has beautiful architecture, and the inside is whitewashed with lime, as in ancient times.
