The Church of St. Linus on the edge of the village of Pelesa was built in 1935 in the Art Nouveau style with neo-Gothic features.

The Church of St. Linus, dedicated to the second Pope after St. Peter, was built in 1935 and is a striking example of Art Nouveau architecture with elements of Neo-Gothic. Its walls are made of natural stone and brick, which gives the building a special expressiveness and uniqueness. Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that large stones were used for the construction, brought from different places, which emphasizes the grandeur and beauty of the church.

Unfortunately, like many churches in the Soviet Union, the church was closed in 1956 during the persecution of religion. However, in 1989, the doors of the holy place reopened, and the building was renovated, which restored its historical significance and attractiveness.

The interior of the church is quite simple, but it has an organ that is worth listening to if possible. The highlight of the church are wooden sculptures and crosses, which add an atmosphere of comfort and spirituality.

The village of Pelesa is unique in that the majority of its population are Lithuanians. There is also a Lithuanian cultural and educational center, where people from all over the country come to learn the Lithuanian language.

It is not difficult to find the church — it is located on the outskirts of the village, between the Lithuanian center and the cemetery. Nearby there is a burial of soldiers of the Regional Army, which adds to the historical significance of this place.

If you have the opportunity, be sure to visit the Church of St. Linus. Its architecture and atmosphere will leave unforgettable impressions and allow you to touch the history and culture of this unique corner of Belarus.
