In the Zavodsky district of Minsk, on the shore of the Chizhovsky reservoir, which surrounds it from two sides, there is one of the most beautiful parks in the capital. The park was founded in 1967, in the year of the 900th anniversary of Minsk, and was named accordingly.

The park is clean, beautiful, incomparable views of the reservoir, gazebos, paths for walking and bicyclists, playgrounds, a ski-roller track, equipped with a "health trail". A small but full-fledged amusement park, and much more.

The Minsk Zoo and the Chizhovka Arena ice rink, built in 2014, are located next to the park.

The park named after the 900th anniversary of the city of Minsk.

In May 1967, a park was opened in one of the young neighborhoods of Minsk, named in honor of the 900th anniversary of the city, as stated by a commemorative sign at the entrance to the park. The opening of the park was attended by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the CPB, Pyotr Mironovich Masherov.

The park is located in one of the most picturesque places of the capital on the shore of the Chizhovsky reservoir, which surrounds it from two sides. In the 70s of the twentieth century, the park was a young grove with 2 main paths parallel to the street.Tashkent Street and a number of paths connecting them. Gradually, a football stadium appeared in the park, 2 playgrounds with sports equipment, a stage area and several shopping kiosks.

The territory of the park is 33.4 hectares. There are 15 species of deciduous and 3 species of coniferous trees on the territory.

In 2011, as part of the city's preparations for the Ice Hockey World Cup, it was decided to reconstruct the park and build a new ice arena. In April 2014, the renovated park was opened after reconstruction. New rides have been installed in it. There are 10 attractions in the park, including the always popular "Autodrom", "Waltz", "Kolobok". The "Savannah Children's Inflatable Complex" is presented for kids. For the youngest, the park has a large playground with slides of different heights, sandboxes, benches, swings, stairs, and quaint towns.

After the reconstruction, an extensive network of paths and paths appeared in the park, the area of which was 26,813.75 sq.m. The health trail became surprisingly interesting, along the way of which there are 8 island stations with a complex of sports and entertainment facilities accessible to both children and adults. Cycling enthusiasts are pleased with the equipped bike path with a distance of 1.39 km. The ski-roller track has been extended to 2 km and 27 meters. Gazebos, shade canopies, rotundas and a pier are located along the embankment of the Chizhovsky reservoir (with an area of 1.6 km2). For the first time, a special campfire area has been equipped. A new administrative and household building has been built at the central entrance to the park, including a garage for cleaning equipment and a public toilet. There are two of the latter operating on the territory.

As part of the celebration of the 950th anniversary of Minsk (September 2017), the art object "Heart" is located on the observation deck. As a symbol of love, it has become one of the places where lovers can register their marriage, adult couples celebrate anniversaries that speak of a long life together, love and respect for each other.

The place itself was not chosen by chance: the bridge connects, as the fate of two people, the territories of such institutions as the Chizhovka Arena and the park named after the 900th anniversary of Minsk, the observation deck is a look of lovers into the future of living together. This is one of the most romantic places in the city. The continuation of the theme of love in the park named after the 900th anniversary of Minsk was the planting of the alley of ash trees on November 25, 2017, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Registry Office of the Republic of Belarus, as evidenced by a commemorative sign. Young trees decorated the area near the arch for the on-site marriage registration.

The park named after the 900th anniversary of Minsk is located and designed in such a way that it allows for large mass events. This is one of the parks of the capital, where folk festivals "Maslenitsa" and "Kupala" are held, which gather more than 10 thousand participants of the holiday from all over the city. The park is also popular for its large sports events.
