Memorial complex "Breakthrough".
It is known that Ushachi was occupied by the Nazi invaders in early July 1941. In September 1943, the Ushachy partisan zone was created, in which 16 brigades, numbering more than 17 thousand people, operated.
In the spring of 1944, more than 60,000 punishers were pulled to the borders of this zone. On April 11, one of the most significant punitive operations in the entire history of the war began, which lasted 25 days. Despite persistent fighting, the partisans were forced to leave Ushachi at the end of April. The 230-kilometer defense line has been reduced to 20 kilometers. On May 4, the punishers blocked the people's avengers in a small area of the Matyrinsky forest, on the night of May 5, the surrounded detachments broke through the blockade.
In 1974, a memorial complex was created at the place where partisan detachments under the command of the future Hero of the Soviet Union V.E. Lobank were able to break the blockade and fight with punitive detachments until the approach of the Red Army units.
At the beginning of the road leading to the memorial, a bronze plaque with the inscription is installed on a reinforced concrete podium.: "There were 17,185 of them against 60,000. The courage of the people has won. Death has become immortality."
In 2015-2016, the monument underwent major restoration, which allowed it to be preserved for future generations.
The memorial complex "Breakthrough" allows perpetuating the memory of the heroism of the partisans, their valor and courage.
