Ozernitsa. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
In the center of Ozernitsa, Slonim district, a stone Orthodox church of St. Nicholas was built on the hill itself. Ozernitsa was first found in historical sources in the 15th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
It belonged to the Derechin estate, where the Kopach family was the owners. At the beginning of the 16th century, the Miloshevic family became the new owners. Then the place became the property of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Since the 16th century, the village has been part of the Slonim district of the Novogrudok Voivodeship and belonged to Ivan Gornostai.
After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, Ozernitsa became part of the Russian Empire at the Slonim district of the Grodno province. In 1886, the village had a school, a synagogue, a church, and 39 courtyards. In the 19th century, the Ozernitsa estate was owned by the priest Anton Aliferovich.
After the Peace of Riga, it was part of the Polish state from 1921 to 1939.
The church of St. Nicholas was built in the center of the village in 1867. The monument was created in a retrospective Russian style. The temple was built with funds from the treasury and more than 6 thousand rubles were spent on it. The church was built near the grave of Matvey Mikhailovich Makarevich, the foreman of the Ozernicheskaya volost, who was killed in 1863 during the anti-Russian uprising.
During the Great Patriotic War, the church did not work and the Nazi invaders kept captured Soviet soldiers in the building. Then there was a hospital here, which was organized by the partisans. After the Great Patriotic War, services in the church resumed
