Mogilev. Hotel "Bristol".
Before the revolution in Mogilev, one of the best hotels of its kind was the hotel "Bristol", which was built in the second half of the 19th century. Initially, the building was two-story, and the third floor was added already in Soviet times. During the First World War, when the Headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army was located in Mogilev, representatives of the Entente lived in the hotel. During the war, many famous figures visited the building: Emperor Nicholas II and his family visited the hotel's restaurant more than once. Many ministers and generals of that time were also here. After the revolution, Komsomol institutions were located next to the building, and Dvaranskaya Street has since been called Komsomolskaya Street. Since 1924, the Soviet Party School has been operating here, and since 1928 - the Political and Educational Technical College, and since 1939 - the Republican Political and Educational School. During the defense of Mogilev in 1941, a military hospital was located here. And in the first months of the war, the underground group "Nepokornyi" worked. After the war, the institution "Republican Cultural and Educational School named after M.K. Krupskaya". Many outstanding figures worked in this institution: participant of the Great Patriotic War, actor and director, public figure, honored cultural worker of the BSSR Valyantsin Yermalovich; actress and socialite Liliya Kuzmyanka; participant of the Great Patriotic War Sima Raevskaya and many others. Now the "Mogilev State College of Arts" works in the building of the former hotel.
