Osova. St. George's Church.
In a place with a beautiful name Osova there is a stone church of St. George. The first wooden church was founded in 1666 at the expense of Kazimir and Alexandra Frantskevich, who at that time were the owners of the town. In 1732, a new church was built by the Yuri Radziwill Foundation. Initially, the church was double-towered, but then they were dismantled.
At the end of the 19th century, the church was a rectangular building with a five-sided apse attached to it. The church was covered with a gable shingle roof. The main facade was decorated with a triangular pediment depicting a sculpture of St. George. There was a two-tiered bell tower next to the church.
Since the old church at the beginning of the 20th century could no longer accommodate all the faithful, a new stone church was built in 1910. During the time of the Polish state in the interwar period, the number of parishioners at the church exceeded 4 thousand people.
The church was built in the Neo-Gothic style of yellow brick and rubble stone. The temple is three-nave. An octagonal bell tower is built above the entrance. The main entrance is built in the form of a neo-Gothic portal. The interior is decorated with floral ornaments in the Art Nouveau style. The church has 7 altars and the main one is named after Mother of God of Czestochowa. The main altar is made in the Neo-Gothic style.
The church is surrounded by a rubble stone fence. The stone Plebani building has been preserved behind the church.
