The Dzekonsky Estate in Ososhniki is a historical monument of the 18th century, located in the Brest region.
The name of the estate is associated with the last Dzekonsky family estate that lived there. However, the history of the estate began much long before that. The first mention of this folwark was in 1563.
The previous eminent owners of this estate also left their mark on this estate. For example, it became known from historical sources that it was the apartment building and library that were established in the estate by judge Mikhail Bulgarin, who participated in the gentry uprising, which also left its mark on this estate.
During its existence, the estate has gone through many changes, including reconstructions and alterations, reflecting changes in architectural styles and fashions.
The estate was rebuilt by representatives of the Dzekonsky family, who were well-known landowners and influential figures. As a result of the reconstruction, a portal with four columns and a triangular portico appeared, and the side facades were lengthened. The Dyakonskys also focused on the development of the park ensemble at this place. The architectural style of the estate combined elements of classicism and Baroque. The building was surrounded by a park, which was also part of the manor culture of that time. The park included alleys, ponds and rare trees, which created an atmosphere of solitude and harmony with nature.
However, this family was subjected to repression in 1939, and the remaining possessions became empty.
After the Second World War, the manor building was transferred to a local hospital. As a result, many buildings disappeared, and the park was partially built up with private residential buildings.
Today, the Dzekonsky estate is an object of cultural heritage and attracts the attention of tourists and historians. Guided tours are conducted around the estate, which introduce visitors to the history and architecture of this unique place.
The building is currently in an abandoned condition. The only thing that reminds of the grandeur and historicity of the building is the preserved architecture of the buildings of those times.
The former park area has turned into a forest.
The Dzekonsky Estate in Ososhniki is not only an architectural monument, but also an important part of the history of Belarus.
