Description
There is a wooden Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Pukhovichi district in the village of Osoka.
The first church in the village is mentioned in documents during the time of the Russian Empire in 1800. The ancient temple was destroyed by fire in 1881. In 1883, a new Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Virgin was built in the village.
In Soviet times, the shrine was closed.
The church began to be renovated in 2008. The temple was built in the style of folk wooden architecture. It consists of two main architectural parts. The church is still under renovation and is not working.

Sedge. The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin.
A wooden Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary has been built in the town of Osoka in the Pukhovichi district. The place is first found in historical sources during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 18th century.
In 1730, Sedge belonged to the Oginsky magnates. After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1793, it became part of the Russian Empire. Since 1793, it has been a part of the Igumen district of the Minsk province.
In 1800, the village had a tavern, a church, and a watermill. In the middle of the 19th century, it belonged to the Unikhovsky noble family. In 1886, there were 326 inhabitants and 38 households.
Since 1887, a literacy school has been opened in the village, where 16 children studied. At the end of the 19th century, it was part of the Dudichi parish of the Igumen district. In 1897, there was a church and a bread shop in the village.
During the First World War in 1918, under the German occupation of the Kaiser's troops. In 1919, it became part of Soviet Belarus. In 1919-1920, under Polish occupation. Since 1920, it became part of Soviet Belarus.
During the time of the Russian Empire, the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Virgin was built in the village. In 1881, the old wooden church was destroyed by fire. A new church was built a couple of years later in 1883. After the revolution in Soviet times, it was closed in the 1930s.
The building began to be renovated in 2008. So far, the temple is under restoration. The temple was built in the style of folk wooden architecture. It consists of two main architectural parts: the vestibule and the prayer hall. There is a side sacristy.
