Orsha. St. Joseph's Church.

In Orsha, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, there were several Catholic and several Orthodox churches. In the 17th century, Prince Drutsky - Sokolinsky invited monks from the Catholic Dominican order to Orsha. There was a hospital attached to the monastery. In 1780-1808, the construction of the brick church of St. Joseph was underway.

After the anti-Russian uprising in the 19th century, the tsarist authorities closed the monastery and demolished the towers of the church. After the Soviet era, in the 1930s, the Soviet government closed the church and the House of Culture of Builders was organized here, and in the post-war period the church was rebuilt. At the end of the USSR, the church was returned to the faithful.

St. Joseph's Church is an architectural monument with elements of baroque and classicism. The building is three-nave with a two-tower facade. The main facade of the church was divided into three parts. In the interior of the temple, there were portrait images of the founders of the temple, Prince Drutsky - Sokolinsky and his wife. Near the church, thanks to the efforts of priests and parishioners, a park recreation area with a pond and a flower garden has been laid out. A copy of the painting "Battle of Orsha" is kept in the church.
