Description

The Grebnitsky estate, located in the picturesque village of Orekhovno, is an example of late classicism. Built in the 19th century, the manor was a striking example of this style of architecture, and also reflected the prosperity of the Grebnitsky family — hereditary nobles who owned these lands. It is now in an abandoned state.

An abandoned 19th century manor house in the style of late classicism.

The estate was built in the 1840s and included not only the main house, but also outbuildings, a park with alleys and decorative elements. The Grebnitsky family came here at the end of the 18th century and became the real owners of the place - they laid out a park here, built a stone manor house and a Uniate church. She was also known for her contribution to the development of the local economy and charity. They were actively engaged in agriculture and supported cultural initiatives in the region. The Grebnitsky estate had a linen factory, a steam mill, a brewery, a blacksmith shop and a stud farm.

Over time, the estate has gone through different stages of life.

After the revolution of 1917, the owners were forced to leave the estate, the house and household premises were looted.

During the Second World War, the hospital of the partisan brigade was located in Orekhovo. Then, until the 90s, there was a school in the estate.

Since 1998, the premises have been empty. The manor was abandoned and its buildings began to fall into disrepair. Everything was taken out of here, right down to the batteries and window frames. Nature is slowly but surely seizing territories that were once settled by man.

The main house of the estate stands out for its elegant architecture with elements of classicism. Original details such as columns, cornices and carved architraves are still partially preserved despite the destruction.

The park around the estate, although overgrown, still retains traces of former luxury — ancient trees and landscape elements that created harmony with the surrounding nature.

Despite being forgotten and abandoned, the estate still attracts the attention of tourists and local historians who seek to study its history and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past. It is known that the estate was bought, but so far nothing is happening in it.

The Grebnitsky estate in Orekhovo is a symbol not only of architectural achievements, but also of the changes experienced by the country. It reminds us how human destinies and the destinies of places are connected by history and culture, and how important it is to preserve this heritage for the future.
