Olkovichi. Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary church.

The history of the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is full of events. The temple was built according to the Neo-Gothic design and became the central element of village life. It replaced earlier church structures, including wooden chapels and churches. It is noteworthy that, along with the current church, there were several earlier religious buildings in the area, including a wooden chapel founded in 1699 and a church erected in 1754.

During the Second World War and after it, the church lost its main function. In 1950, it was closed and used as a granary. It was badly damaged by fire in 1969 due to a damaged lightning rod.

The return of the church to the faithful in 1989 was a landmark event. The church was renovated and today continues to serve as a place of worship for local Catholics and parishioners from neighboring villages.

Its architecture, including three naves, pointed portals and a multi-tiered tower, as well as decorative interior elements, make it a unique and important cultural heritage site in the region.

Today, the Olkovichi Church is in good condition and is not only a religious building, but also a historical monument reflecting the cultural and architectural traditions of its time. 

Apart from the church itself, fragments of an ancient stone fence and a small park remain an important element of the local atmosphere. A unique rural house with a wooden sculpture of religious themes serves as an additional attraction, emphasizing the cultural heritage of the region.
