Novy Sverzhen. Assumption Orthodox Church
After the town of Novy Sverzhen was purchased by Prince Radzivil at the end of the 16th century, he immediately founded the Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Uniate Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin here. Prince Radzivil founded the church in 1590. Later, the Basilian Monastery was founded at the Union Church. Prince Mikhail Kazimir Radzivil 'Rybonka' donated 74,000 zlotys to Basilians in 1743. After the ban of the union in the 19th century, the temple passed to the Orthodox Church. In Soviet times, the church did not work. Then it was returned to the Orthodox believers and now the church is being repaired. The Church of the Assumption faces the shopping square with its lateral western facade. The architecture of the temple is dominated by a tall quadrangular tower. The decoration of the tower and the temple is very modest. The interior of the hall-type temple. There are choirs supported by 2 wooden columns. The church is surrounded by a brick fence made of broken stone. An entrance gate was built near the church.
