Novogrudok. Kastus Kachan Art Gallery.

The renowned Konstantin Kachan art gallery appeared in Novogrudok on the initiative of the artist himself, a native of these parts. For a long time, the studio of the famous landscape painter was located in the center of Minsk, but the artist's soul was resting, he was refreshed by energy and impressions for his work in his native places. With the help of colleagues, friends and local residents, an old building in the style of a traditional noble manor was reconstructed in the historical center of Novogrudok on Zamkova Street.

The gallery building was designed by architect Leonty Zdanevich. It houses an artist's workshop, exhibition halls, an art space for creative events, a family living room and a cafe, as well as a playground with magnificent views of the ancient city. The works of landscape painter Konstantin Kachan are now in the National Art Museum of Belarus, the Tretyakov Gallery and other major treasures of the countries, in private collections in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, China.

The three-storey gallery includes two exhibition halls and an artist's studio. There are spacious exhibition halls on the first and second floors, and a workshop on the third. The steps are decorated with elements of the Slutsk belt patterns. There are more than 70 works on display.

Despite the diversity of the gallery's activities, its main attraction is painting, primarily landscapes and still lifes. Each work artistically combines the past and the modern of Belarus.

Looking at the paintings, you can travel around our country. Konstantin Kachan is happy to give master classes on creating paintings and talks in detail about his canvases. 

In addition to paintings, the gallery has a rich collection of furniture, colored glass and household items from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The famous artist is called the singer of Belarusian towns. His paintings depict the history, traditions, way of life, and beauty of his native land. Landscapes and still lifes are full of love and quiet sadness. Trees, flowers, temples and castles, reapers in the field and peasant houses, mills, water, earth and sky are what the artist lovingly depicts. A separate place in the exhibition is occupied by the painting "Winter Evening".

During the viewing, you can see all the stages of painting the canvas, listen to live classical music and chat with the artist himself. Konstantin Kachan himself often conducts guided tours of the gallery. You can drink coffee brewed in a Vienna coffee maker, herbal teas, which are kindly offered and prepared by the gallery owner's wife. Postcards and reproductions are available.
