The Holy Cross Catholic Church in the agricultural town of Nagornoe is an important architectural monument in the style of the Belarusian Neo-Gothic.

Holy Cross Catholic Church is located in the old Catholic cemetery, where the graves of representatives of the Dybovsky family have survived.

Its history begins in 1835, when the Catholic chapel of St. Anthony was built in the cemetery of the village of Plaskovichi (now Nagornoe). In 1924, the chapel was reconstructed and expanded, turning into a wooden church.

The solemn consecration of the wooden church, created on the basis of the chapel, took place on September 14, 1925. However, in the middle of the twentieth century, the building burned down.

Already in 1931, Bishop Bukrab consecrated the stone for the construction of a new church. At that time, Nagornoe was part of interwar Poland. The construction of the brick church was supervised by the priest himself. The temple was built in 1936.

The architecture of the church is made in the style of the Belarusian Neo-Gothic of the early 20th century. It is a single-nave single-towered temple with a square apse and side sacristy. The high plinth is decorated with brick draught, and the main volume is covered with a gable roof with a two-tiered tower on the main facade (unfortunately, the tent of the tower has not been preserved). The facades of the building are rhythmically divided by arched window openings and pylons, and the corners of the volumes are decorated with four-sided pinnacles. In the interior, the nave is covered with cylindrical arches, and the walls are decorated with pilasters.

In 1947, the church was confiscated by the Communist authorities and used as a barn. It was only in 1990 that the building was returned to the Catholic community. After the restoration, which was completed in 1994, the church was rededicated in 1997.

Holy Cross Catholic Church is included in the State List of historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus of the III category. It is not only a religious center, but also an important architectural monument that preserves the spirit of the history and traditions of the Belarusian Neo-Gothic.
