Description
In the heart of Minsk, on the territory of the Upper Town and the Loshitsa estate, there is a museum of the history of the city, which holds a rich collection of artifacts telling about its past. The museum, owned by the Department of Culture of the Minsk City Executive Committee, offers visitors to immerse themselves in the history of the city from its early days of the XI century to the XIX century.
The museum's collections are a journey through time: archaeological finds, everyday objects of citizens, cameras, paintings, graphics, decorative and applied art, memorabilia of famous Minsk residents – all of them are woven into a fascinating story.
But a museum is not only a keeper of the past. He lives his modern life by presenting rotating thematic exhibitions, including international ones, and organizing creative projects: concerts, seminars, conferences, plein-airs. Collectors, artists, photographers, representatives of various organizations and institutions gather here, sharing their work and telling their stories.
