Monastyr. Holy Trinity Church
If you drive from the city of Tolochin to the city of Senno, you will pass a place called the Monastyr. And next to the road you will see the ancient Trinity Church, which was recently restored, and you may even think that the temple is brand new.
The Trinity Church was built in 1890-1896. The temple was part of the Neklyudovskaya Boriso – Gleb Pustyn'. By the decision of the Holy Synod, in 1885, the Neklyudovskaya Pustyn' was founded, which was founded by the actual state councilor Philip Leshkov. He owned an estate in Neklyudovo, which he donated to the Pustyn' with all the buildings and land holdings. The monastery was located on a hill near the pond.
Trinity Church had the status of a parish church. It was closed in Soviet times in the 1960s. After the restoration of the Orthodox shrine, the church was assigned to the Holy Intercession Convent in the city of Tolochin.
The Trinity Church was built according to a standard design. It has 4 main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse. A multi-tiered bell tower is built above the narthex, which is completed by a spire with an onion. The main cuboid volume, where the prayer hall is located, is covered with a four-pitched roof, and it is completed by an octagonal drum. The facades of the church are decorated with plastic decor with ancient Russian kokoshniks.
