The Mogilev Regional Museum of Local Lore is a place where history comes to life.
In the hall dedicated to archeology, ancient tools, a collection of ancient coins (about 500 units), jewelry (from the excavations of the Angelinsky kurgan of the Bykhovsky district), ceramics, original letters of the Polish kings Sigismund III and Stanislav Augustus, Napoleon's sleigh, which he abandoned during his flight from Russia, the throne chair of Catherine II, and many other exhibits found on the territory of the region. Each exhibit has its own unique history, which allows us to better understand how our ancestors lived.
Other halls of the museum are dedicated to ethnography and art. Here you can see traditional costumes, objects of peasant life. The museum actively holds exhibitions dedicated to significant events and personalities of the region, which makes it a lively and modern cultural institution.
An exhibition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War occupies a special place in the museum. She is patriotic and tells movingly about the heroism of the residents of Mogilev, about the terrible trials that befell them. Stands with photos, letters and documents help to restore the memory of those who fought for the freedom of their country.
The section devoted to the nature of the region is of no less interest. There are extensive collections of flora and fauna, including rare species of animals and plants living in the Mogilev region. These exhibits highlight the importance of natural heritage and the need to preserve it.
Museum visitors can not only see the exhibits, but also ask questions to the guides, who will be happy to share interesting facts and legends. The museum also actively works with children and youth, offering educational programs and workshops.
The Mogilev Regional Museum of Local Lore is a place where history comes to life. He inspires, makes you think and does not leave you indifferent. Everyone who crosses the threshold of this wonderful museum gets a unique opportunity to touch the history of their region and learn more about its rich cultural heritage.
