Description
On the outskirts of the village of Mogilevtsy, Pruzhany district, there is a stone column dedicated to some significant historical event in the history of this region, the worst of all is the Constitution of May 3, 1793, the first Constitution in Europe. But there are several other versions of the monument's construction: some believe that it was built in honor of the knight who took part in the Battle of Grunwald, and some - that in honor of the uprising of 1863-1864 under the leadership of Kastus Kalinowski.

Mogilevtsy. Memorial column in honor of the Constitution on May 3.
There is an ancient village of Mogilevtsy in the Pruzhany district between Ruzhany and Lyskovo. Several ancient monuments have been preserved here, including the Dyakonsky palace and park complex of the 18th and 19th centuries, the 11th–century burial mounds, and an unusual monument of antiquity, a memorial stone column.
The place has several variants of where the name mogilevchane came from. There are ancient burials here, which locals call a burial ground. The local owners of the estate from the Bykhovets family had a family coat of arms called "Grave". And some researchers believe that the residents came here from near the city of Mogilev. In short, there are several options.
In the 18th century, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the chamberlain of the last king of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Joseph Bykhovets, built an estate in Mogilevtsy - a two-story palace was erected in the park.
The last owners were representatives of the Dyakonsky family, who ran the place until 1939. The ancestral chapel was destroyed. The park and the palace have been preserved to our time.
There is a stone memorial column on the outskirts of the village. There are several options for whom and in honor of what it was built. The first version tells us that the column was erected in honor of the Constitution of May 3, 1791, which was adopted in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth - it was the first Constitution in Europe. The second version says that the monument was built in honor of the uprising of 1863-1864. There is also a hypothesis that column was already here in the 18th century and was dedicated to the knight Zawisza the Black, who took part in the Battle of Grunwald.
