Mizherici. St. Anne's Church.
The Orthodox church in the town of Mizherici was built in 1904. The church is stone, built of brick. The building material was produced at a specially built factory in 1903.
There is a version that at first Catholics began to build a Catholic church at this place, which was brought up to the level of windows. But the high authorities, who were Orthodox, forbade Catholics to build their church here and gave this site to the Orthodox church, and another piece of land was allocated for the church.
After the Great Patriotic War, the church was closed in the 1950s. The building was adapted for a granary. Just before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1987, the church was handed over to Orthodox believers. Repairs were carried out and the church started working again in 1989.
The building was built in retrospective Russian style according to a standard project. The church consists of three main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse. Above the narthex there is a two-tiered bell tower, which is pierced by four windows. The bell tower is eight on four. The prayer hall has a cuboid volume covered by a four-pitched roof over which there is an octagonal drum with an onion. The facades of the church are decorated with kokoshniks, like ancient Russian temples.
At the entrance to the church square, a two-tiered stone bell tower has been built, which is decorated with frescoes with images of evangelists. The church is surrounded by a stone fence.
