Minsk. Writers' House.

The so-called "Writers' House" has been built in Minsk on K. Marx Street in the city center. The building is located opposite the Yanka Kupala Theater and during the time of the Russian Empire, Yukhnovich's house was located here. The old building was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War.

After the war, a lot of construction took place in the historical center of Minsk, and construction of a new modern residential building began on this site, which was built specifically for Belarusian writers. The house was built on the initiative of the classic of Belarusian literature Yanka Mavr.

Construction began in 1951, and the building was commissioned in the fall of 1953. Architect Arkady Bregman. The house was built in the neoclassical style, or the popular name of the style "Stalin Empire".

The building has historical and cultural value. The apartments were allocated to the Writers' Union of Soviet Belarus, and the Political Book store operated on the ground floor. The building has 3 entrances. One was built at the expense of the Minsk City Council, and two were built at the expense of the Literary Fund.

Many famous Belarusian writers lived in this "literary" house: Yanka Mavr, Vladimir Korotkevich, Maxim Luzhanin, Neil Gilevich, Vyacheslav Rogoisha, Vasily Vitka, Ivan Naumenko, Peter Glebka and many others. There are several commemorative signs on the house.
