The Konstantin Sergeevich Zaslonov Children's Railway is not just an attraction, but a world where children can learn and have fun at the same time.

The building of the Zaslonovo station is located at 86 Independence Avenue (not far from Chelyuskintsev Park metro station). It was built in 1955 by architect Georgy Zaborsky. It houses a waiting room, a ticket office, an information desk, a station attendant's office, an instruction room and a mock-up of the railway. This is the starting and ending station of the railway route, where passengers board and disembark.

In 2020, the station was reconstructed and the waiting room was renovated. A train driver simulator has appeared for the first time.

There are three stations on the children's railway: Zaslonovo, Pionerskaya, and Sosnovy Bor.

Pionerskaya station is a technical station. There are SCB consoles, which control the movement. The rolling stock is serviced and locomotives are equipped here.

Sosnovy Bor station is located in a wooded area. There used to be a wooden station building there, but it was destroyed by fire in 1980 and a canopy is currently installed there. Here, passengers can get off the cars, take a walk, get some fresh air, and play outdoor games.

The children's railway differs from the large railway in the smaller size of wagons and locomotives, as well as in the track width (75 cm). The same rules apply on the children's railway as on the adult railway, but children work on it. The trip takes about 30 minutes. The children's railway is not only entertainment, but also performs an important educational function. Here, students become train drivers, conductors, and dispatchers, which helps them develop teamwork skills and responsibility, as well as learn how to manage trains, take care of the territory, and gain experience that may be useful to them in the future.

In 1987, technical modernization was carried out on the children's railway: an automatic lock was installed, and a new control room building was built at the Pionerskaya station.

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the road in 2005, six wagons were presented to it, which underwent major repairs at the Gomel Car Building Plant.

In 2008, a diesel locomotive was purchased, and in 2009, the grand opening of a new training center with specialized classrooms, a computer room and a history room took place.

Currently, the children's railway has two diesel locomotives and 10 wagons, two of which are equipped with a diesel generator set designed for lighting and heating the wagons. All cars are equipped with a radio broadcasting system for conducting musical accompaniment and thematic excursions.

There are two trains running on the road in May. By Victory Day, young railway workers are working in military uniforms. These are the conductors and the head of the train. At the Sosnovy Bor station, you can taste soldiers' porridge and participate in various contests. There are two trains running these days.

The Konstantin Sergeevich Zaslonov Children's Railway is not just an attraction, but a world where children can learn and have fun at the same time. This unique combination makes it a must-visit.
