An important historical monument uniting several places of mass destruction of innocent people during the Great Patriotic War.

The Trostenets complex unites several places of mass destruction of innocent people.

The Trostenets death camp was established in the autumn of 1941 near the village of Maly Trostenets near Minsk. It consisted of a work camp and places where people were killed en masse. From 1942 to 1944, the Nazis killed more than 206,000 people. These included Jews, Soviet prisoners of war, and civilians. People were shot, gassed, and burned alive at the stake. The charred corpses were dumped into huge ditches and rammed with a tractor. In July 1944, 34 mass graves were found at this place, some of which reached a length of 50 meters.

The memorial complex also includes such memorable areas as the Blagoveshchyna tract - the site of mass shootings and the Shashkovka tract - the place of mass burning of people in a monstrous pit furnace. More than 30 pit graves with charred remains of about 150,000 people were found in Blagoveshchyna.

In 1963, in memory of the numerous victims, an obelisk with an eternal flame was erected at the camp site near the village of Bolshoy Trostenets, and in 1965 monuments were erected in Maly Trostenets and Shashkovka.

In 2014, the construction of the memorial began. In 2015, a 10-meter-high monument "Gates of Memory" was erected in the complex, symbolizing the eternal memory of innocent victims. An Alley of Memory with granite slabs at the places of human destruction leads to the gate.

In 2018, another memorial was opened in Blagoveshchyna, consisting of 2 complexes: "The Last Way" and the Blagoveshchyna memorial cemetery.

In 2019, the monument "Array of Names" was opened near the Gates of Memory - a monument to the Austrian citizens who died in Trostenets.

The Trostenets Memorial Complex is a mournful place, witnessing a huge tragedy. It is an important object for the preservation of historical memory.
