Description

The gentry manor has been preserved in the town of Massolyany in the Berestovitsky district of the Grodno region. The palace was built in the 19th century by the Bisping owners. How the manor looked at that time, we can judge by the drawing of Napoleon Orda.

Near the palace there was a park with flower beds, a greenhouse, and sculptures were installed on the shore of the lake. A polish writer wrote about Massolyany, and they are also described in the memoirs of the last owners of the estate, who moved to Poland in 1939.

In the post-war period, the palace was significantly rebuilt. The park and outbuildings have been preserved.

Massolyany. The Bisping Estate

The remains of the noble manor of the Bispings have been preserved in the town of Massolyany.

The manor was built in the 19th century in the classical style with elements of pseudo-Gothic and Empire style. The construction was carried out according to the project of the Italian architect Michael Elvira Adrioli. In 1880, the famous artist and composer Napoleon Orda visited the hosts, who left an image of landscapes.

The palace was a stone one-storey building of complex configuration, which was installed on a high plinth. The central part is decorated with a semi-rotunda with 4 columns. The palace had side wings, which were decorated with pillar galleries. Vases with flowers and large stone lions were placed in front of the entrance to the building. A stone staircase connected the palace to the lake. There were many flowers and flower beds in the park and near the Palace. A stone greenhouse with a transparent roof was equipped. There were several sculptures in the park near the lake.

The entrance hall in the palace played the role of a domestic chapel-there was a closet opposite the entrance door, inside of which an altar was installed. In the dining room with 3 large windows there was a large sliding table around which oak chairs with the image of the family coat of arms were placed. The rooms of the palace were decorated with family portraits. The hosts were visited by the famous polish writer Adolf Digasinsky, who in his story "The Hare" described the manor in Massolyany. In 1992, the memoirs of the son of the last owner of the palace, John Bisping, were published in Poland, called "our Massolyany".

In 1939, the estate was seized and transferred to a hospital. After the war, part of the building was adapted for a club, and people lived in the other. In the post-war period, the palace was significantly rebuilt and lost its main features.
