Malye Zhukhovichi. Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist.

In the village of Malye Zhukhovichi, Korelichi district, there is a wooden church of the Nativity of John the Baptist. The temple was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1782. During the time of the Russian Empire, a parish school was opened at the church in 1882. The building has been renovated and rebuilt several times.

For a long time there was a 15th-century Gospel in the church, which was called the Malozhukhovichi Gospel. The gospel was created in the late 15th-early 16th century and was kept in the church of the town of Malye Zhukhovichi, as reported by an entry on one of the pages. The book was preserved in the Vilno Belarusian Museum from the early 1920s until 1946. Then the Gospel turned up in the library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.

The manuscript contains 347 pages, which are written in an artistic semi-style in dark brown and red colors in the Church Slavonic language with the peculiarities of the Belarusian language. The book is decorated with initials, screensavers, curly miniatures with images of evangelists. Most recently, a facsimile edition of 99 copies of the book was made in 2023.

The shrine was built at the expense of the local landowner Nesioslavsky. In 1876, the foundation was repaired.

After the Great Patriotic War, the church was closed in Soviet times.

At the end of the USSR's existence in 1989, the church was returned to Orthodox believers. The temple was renovated. The church is active.
