The Lyaskovichi Museum of Nature and Everyday Life.
The Lyaskovichi Museum of Nature and Everyday Life is the youngest among the Belarusian ecological museums. The President of Belarus visited this place in 2010 and promised the locals to fulfill their dream of creating a museum. The construction of the modern building was completed in a year.
In 2012, as part of the second ethnoculture festival "The Call of Polesie", the official opening of the museum took place.
The architecture of the building is distinguished by its originality.
The museum's exhibitions are aimed at popularizing environmental protection and getting to know the history of the Pripyatsky National Park.
The museum has a total of six themed halls with a variety of exhibits from archeology to ethnography.
The geological exposition presents a diagram of the consolidated section of the Turov geological well.
The Archeology Hall presents archaeological finds from the Pripyat hillforts and tells about the first people.
The History Hall tells visitors the story of the creation and development of the Pripyatsky National Park, which has an area of about 190 thousand hectares.
The nature hall is decorated with dioramas, stuffed animals, and art paintings. Here you can get acquainted with various species of birds, wild animals, and fish.
The ethnography hall features a realistic imitation of a typical 19th-century Poleshuk dwelling, including authentic household items such as a spinning wheel, fishing gear, embroidered carpets and other accessories.
The Waterways Hall presents a map of the waterways of Polesie. Each of the tourists will be able to pass here "from the Varangians to the Greeks."
The museum also has a conference hall with 100 seats, where scientific conferences, seminars on ecology and various lectures are held. There is a souvenir shop for visitors, where you can buy various ceramics, straw and linen products.
