Lyakhovtsy. Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God.

The town of Lyakhovtsy is located between the district center of Malorita and the border with Ukraine, which is only a few kilometers away. An ancient wooden church of the Nativity of the Mother of God was built in the middle of the village.

The year of the temple's construction is considered to be the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1713, and at that time it belonged to Uniate believers. After the prohibition of the union in the Russian Empire in the 19th century, the temple passed to the Orthodox Church. In 1858, the building was renovated and a wooden bell tower was built. The church also worked during the time of the Polish state, and was closed after the war in Soviet times in 1964. In the last years of the USSR, in 1988, the building was handed over to believers, where repairs were carried out.

The church is an architectural monument of national significance, which was built in the traditions of folk wooden architecture with features of the Baroque era. The building consists of three log cabins along an elongated axial composition and consists of four main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse with a side sacristy. A small vestibule with a gable roof and a triangular pediment is attached to the main volume. It seems that the vestibule was added later, when the church passed to the Orthodox. Above the main volume is a gable roof and a baroque two-tiered dome.

The interior has a spiral structure. There are choirs and an iconostasis, which was created in the early 19th century. There are ancient icons from the 16th and 18th centuries, including "Our Lady of Odigitria" and "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker." A wooden two-tiered bell tower was built in front of the church in the 19th century.
