Luninets. St. Joseph's Church.

The building of the Catholic Church of St. Joseph has been preserved in the center of Luninets. Luninets was first mentioned in historical documents in the 15th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. After the partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the place was under the rule of the Russian Empire. After the Peace of Riga in 1921 and before 1939, it was part of the Polish state.

In 1931, Bishop Zygmunt Lozinsky consecrated the Church of St. Joseph in Luninets. And in 1935, Bishop Kazimir Bukrab reconsecrated the Catholic shrine.

The church was closed during the Soviet Union in 1948. The building was first adapted as a warehouse, and then there was a Cultural center. The tower above the church was demolished. In the last years of the USSR, the building was returned to the faithful. The first Catholic service was held here in 1997. In recent years, the interior has been renovated and painted.

The church was built in the style of historicism. It has features of Neo-Gothic and neoclassicism. The building has the shape of a rectangle in the plan. Covered gable roof. A pentagonal apse is attached to the main volume. The main facade of the church is completed with a triangular pediment. There is a rose window above the entrance.
