Beam. Church of St. Thaddeus.
The Church of St. Thaddeus was built in the late Baroque style with classicist features. And this feature of its combination of transitional styles makes the temple unique from an architectural point of view.
During the Second World War, the church was badly damaged. Since 1948, there has been no priest in the parish for a long time. Since 1971, the church building began to be used as a warehouse, and only since 1990 it again belonged to believers and was gradually restored.
He is incredibly beautiful and majestic. At the entrance to the church you can see the world's first monument to Pope Benedict XVI.
Next to the church there is a preserved building - a plebania (priest's house), built in the 19th century.
Inside the temple, three-dimensional paintings on the walls using the grisal technique, imitating sculptural modeling, are perfectly preserved. The artist Kazimir Antoshevsky was engaged in painting the temple. The ancient organ from 1811 still plays in the church.
The area around the church is very well-groomed and beautifully landscaped: sculptures, flower beds, an artificial pond with aquatic plants and a statue of the Virgin Mary in a niche. There is also a model of the Oginski estate, which was in Luchai, but, unfortunately, has not survived to this day.
