Loiki. Gmina building.
In the small town of Loiki, Grodno region, the gmina building has been preserved to this day. Loiki now has the status of an agro-town. They are located in the Sopotskin village council north of Grodno. After the Peace of Warsaw in 1921, this region passed to the Polish state until 1939, before the arrival of Soviet power.
The town of Loiki became the center of the gmina in the Augustow district of the Belostok Voivodeship of the Polish Republic. In those days, the gmina in Poland was the smallest administrative unit, as we have a village council now. The administrative building of the gmina was built in Loiki in 1927. The building was built in the neo-Baroque style, with elements of Zakopane style and Art Nouveau. The house turned out to be similar to the old-world palace of the nobility of the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
During the Second World War, the building was adapted to the commandant's office of the Nazi troops. After the Great Patriotic War, a local secondary school was located here, including medical facilities such as a pharmacy and an outpatient clinic.
For some time the premises were without an owner and in 2015 the building was put up for sale. It was purchased by a private trader, and then put up for auction again.
The house is one-story, yellow brick stone. It has an attic. The central part is highlighted by a two-story risalite.
