Description
The park in Logoisk, which in the Soviet period was called the Park of Culture and Recreation, is not only a green recreation area, but also an important historical site associated with the legacy of Count Pius Tyshkevich. This park covers an area of 10 hectares and was designed taking into account the architectural splendor of a two-storey palace built in the Empire style in 1819. The palace has become a symbol of cultural and scientific progress, which was initiated by the Count and his family.

The ancient park and the ruins of the Tyshkevich Palace.
Pius Tyshkevich, who became the owner of Logoysk in 1801, was outstanding
a man of his time. He devoted his life to studying his native land, its history and culture. This activity became a family affair, and his wife and children actively supported him in this endeavor.
Family Tyshkevich actively collected materials on ethnography and folklore, explored local archaeological sites such as ancient settlements and burial mounds. Their work attracted the attention of famous scientists, and the Tyshkevichi received recognition for their scientific achievements. In the period from 1814 to 1819 Pius Tyshkevich completed the construction of his palace, which became not only a living space, but also a cultural center.
In 1842, his sons, Konstantin and Eustathius, decided to create the first historical and archaeological museum of antiquities in Belarus. This museum became a real treasure trove, which contained objects found during the
archaeological excavations, as well as unique artifacts related to history
the region.
Two rooms were allocated inside the palace for the museum, where portraits of members of the Tyshkevich family and works by famous artists hung on the walls.
The numismatic collection, numbering 1,140 medals and coins, was one of the most significant in the country. In addition, the museum housed an extensive library consisting of more than 300 volumes, as well as an archive of ancient manuscripts and maps that helped to explore history and geography
the region. The collection also contained more than 200 paintings by Italian masters, as well as works by Russian, Belarusian and Polish painters, which emphasized
the cultural diversity and richness of this place. Constance, the niece of King Stanislaw of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, assisted the Tyshkevich family in collecting the collection Poniatowski. Together with my brothers She actively participated in the creation of the museum, which became a unique phenomenon in the Belarusian culture of that time.
time.
Despite the fact that the museum had no analogues, its existence was
for a short time. In the following years, with the changing political situation, the collection and the palace itself began to decline. After the revolution of 1917 and subsequent historical events, the fate of the museum and its collections was under threat
a threat. Many exhibits were lost or destroyed, and the palace itself became abandoned. However, despite this, the memory of Tyshkevich and their contribution to the study of the history and culture of the region still lives today.
During the Second World War, the Tyshkevich estate, unfortunately, was destroyed. Today, only a few ruins remain of it, which add a special atmosphere to the park.
Today, the park in Logoisk and the ruins of the Tyshkevich Palace are not only of historical value, but also a place where you can enjoy nature and
think about the rich legacy left by the ancestors.
The park has become a popular place for walks, picnics and cultural events,
which allow you to preserve the memory of outstanding personalities who once
they lived and worked on this land. There is a church and a stadium near the park.
Thus, the Logoi Park and the Tyszkiewicz Palace remain an important part
the cultural landscape of Belarus. They remind us how important it is to preserve and study our heritage in order to pass it on to future generations. Also, this ancient park is a great place for leisurely family and tourist walks in the fresh air in silence.
