Lebeda. Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
Near the village of Mozheikovo, on the Lida – Shchuchin highway, there is a small village of Lebeda. A stone Orthodox church in honor of St. Nicholas was built on the very outskirts of the village.
The first Orthodox church was wooden and the time of its exact construction is unknown. In the documents of 1869 there is a description of a wooden church: "The church is a wooden building with a 4–column bell tower in need of correction and repair." In 1887-1891, Savvatiy Yelizersky served as a priest here, who in 1888 wrote a petition for the construction of a new church at the state expense. In 1891, Sergei Ivanovich Morozov served as a priest in Lebeda and at that time the construction of a new church was completed under him.
The temple was built under the supervision of the construction committee, where the chairman was a local priest and six peasants. By November 1900, the church was finally completed and the consecration of the shrine took place.
In 1903, a women's parish school was opened, where the teacher Alexandra Kotlyar was the head. The school had 22 students.
Since 1908, Nikolai Albov began serving as a priest at the church. He already had 2 parish schools and 2 public schools working at the parish. In 1912, there were 1.5 thousand parishioners.
In Soviet times, the church was not closed and even managed to carry out repairs during these years.
The church was built according to a standard design in pseudo-Russian style. It consists of 4 main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall with an apse. Above the narthex is a bell tower with an octagon above a quadrangle. The interior has a two-tiered iconostasis.
