Lakhva. Church of the Nativity of the Virgin.

Near the M-10 highway between Luninets and Mikashevichi there is an ancient village of Lakhva, famous since the 15th century.

During the time of the Russian Empire, in 1824, a wooden Orthodox church was built by the foundation of Princess Stephanie Radziwill. The temple has not been preserved to our time.

Now in the center of the village stands the stone Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, which was built in 1889. The temple was built on the place where, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Radziwill magnates built a Catholic church in the 17th century.

The church is built in the pseudo-Russian style and consists of four main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse.

A four-tiered bell tower is built above the vestibule: two eights above a four. The bell tower is completed by a tall multi-faceted tent with an onion. There are 5 domes on octagonal reels above the main volume. A semicircular apse is attached to the main volume. The entrance stone staircase is decorated with two low columns with crosses.

There were ancient valuable icons in the interior of the church, some of which are now in a museum in Minsk. The following icons are known: "Our Lady of Odigitria", "Resurrection – Descent into hell", "John Chrysostom" are works of the 17th - 18th centuries and the wooden sculpture of the 19th century "crucifixion".
