Kupyatichi. Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

There is an ancient village of Kupyatichi in the Pinsk district, which is located a few kilometers east of the district center. A wooden building of the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas was erected in the middle of the Kupyatichi.

The place has been known for a long time and according to some historical sources, already in the 12th century there was a church with a chapel in honor of Nicholas the Wonderworker. This chapel was built in honor of the rescue of the inhabitants during the epidemic. In 1629, Apollonia Voynilovich-Voina asked her son to build a monastery in this place, and the ascetic martyr Macarius appeared in this monastery.

In 1817, the monastery was closed and the Monastery church was not preserved. The new wooden church, which was consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas, was built in 1822. And this building has not survived to our time either.

In 1867, a new church of St. Nicholas was built.

During the Great Patriotic War, the building of the shrine was severely damaged, but then rebuilt. During the Soviet years, the temple was not closed.

The miraculous icon of the Kupyatitskaya Mother of God is kept in the church.

The church was built in the traditions of folk wooden architecture. The building consists of 4 main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse. There is a three-tiered iconostasis in the interior.

The church has been renovated in recent years.
