Description

Krugloe is a great, quiet and peaceful place where the modern Holy Trinity Church is located. The building is clean and well equipped. There are many beautiful icons in the temple, and the walls and ceiling are truly impressive. Father Gennady, the rector of the church, is very attentive to the parishioners and conducts services with great diligence. There are also church stalls in the church where you can buy candles, consecrated honey and beautiful works created at Sunday school.

The history of this place begins with the first partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1772, when the village of Krugloe passed into the possession of Princess Ekaterina Dashkova. In 1802, she built a church here, named after Saints Cyril and John. Although the old church has not been preserved, a new Holy Trinity Church was erected in its place in October 2005, which now welcomes the Orthodox faithful of the city. The rector of this church is Archpriest Gennady (Gennady Adamovich Kozhanovsky).

Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church in Krugloe has a rich history.

After the first partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1772, the town of Krugloe passed into the possession of Princess Ekaterina Dashkova, a friend of Empress Catherine II and the sister of the president of the College of Commerce, Count A.R. Vorontsov.

On June 28, 1802, the church, named after Saints Cyril and John, was built and consecrated by Dashkova in honor of the fortieth anniversary of the revolution of 1762, which brought Catherine II to the throne. The inventory of the estate in 1816 describes the location of the church: "... in the village of Krugloe, the Drut River flows on one side and the Sitnya River on the other. There are two wooden churches with bell towers in the village: the first on the market in the middle of the village is a Greek—Oriental church in the name of Saints Cyril and John, the second is a Uniate church in the name of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary...".

Some time later, in 1861, the church was renamed Nativity-Bogoroditskaya.

In 1959, after the dissolution of the Krugloe district, the wooden church building was dismantled and transported to Belynichi, where it became the Belynichi House of Pioneers.

Despite the loss of the old church, in the 1990s a new Orthodox Holy Trinity Church was opened in Krugloe in the building of the former shooting gallery. In 1995, a parish was established in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, and on April 27, 1997, the first Liturgy was held in a temporary room in the city park. Since its opening, it has been headed by Archpriest Gennady Kozhanovsky.

In October 2005, a new Holy Trinity Orthodox Church was built on the site of the old church, consecrated by Archbishop Sophrony. The rector of the church is Archpriest Gennady Kozhanovsky.

The interior of Holy Trinity Church is made in the classical style for Orthodox churches: the vestibule, the main part and the altar. Handwritten icons created by Belarusian artists Larisa Zhuravovich and Alexander Rosinov adorn the temple. In the vestibule, you can take candles and write notes. The prayer hall, with an area of 60.7 square meters, serves as a place for worship and prayer. In the center of the hall is a lectern with a temple icon painted by Alexander Rosinov, and next to it is a unique children's lectern with the icon "The Blessing of Children", also painted by Rosinov.

A small bell and a Gospel have been preserved from the old church. The walls of the prayer hall are decorated with icons and other elements of church art, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and peace.
