Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The history of the village of Krivoshin is closely connected with the fate of noble families and historical events that have affected its architecture and spiritual life. The first mention of the village is found in the Metric of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1481, when it belonged to Ivan Ilyinich, who received it as a dowry from his wife. She inherited the estate from her first husband, Yuri Gaitsevich. The transfer of property rights was a common practice at the time. The last representative of the family, Yuri Ilyinich, without leaving heirs, transferred his possessions to his cousin Nikolai Christopher Radziwill.
In 1584, Mikhail Kazimir Radziwill transferred his Repikhov estate to the Nesvizh Jesuit College, which led to the construction of a small wooden church in 1670. Later, in 1740, it was replaced by a Baroque three-nave basilica.
The fate of the Krivoshin church changed after the uprising of 1863-1864. As a result of the policy of Russification and suppression of Catholicism, the church was taken away from the Catholic Church. In 1866, he was re-consecrated to the Orthodox Church of the Intercession. Father Alexander Baranovsky, a graduate of the Minsk Theological Seminary, who served in Krivoshin for more than 60 years, became the rector of the church.
In 1884-1885, the church was significantly rebuilt, which radically changed its appearance, giving it the features of Russian church architecture in the eclectic style. This change in style emphasized the new status of the church and reflected the authorities' desire to establish the Orthodox faith in the region.
Today, the church continues to function. The temple attracts not only locals, but also tourists interested in the history and culture of Belarus. Regular worship services are held in the church, as well as various church holidays and events. The Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Krivoshin is not only a religious site, but also an important part of the cultural heritage of Belarus. Its history and architecture make it a significant place to explore and visit.
