Description
The wooden church in Krichev, dedicated to Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, was first mentioned in the XVI century. In 1880, the temple was rebuilt and stood for about half a century. Later, in Soviet times and during the war, the building fell into disrepair. In the 1990s, the restoration of the church began, and it was consecrated in 1999.
There is a dedicated part in the church, called the chapel, in honor of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa. Previously, the church was known as the Holy Resurrection Paraskevinskaya, but now it is more often called the Resurrection.
An interesting fact is connected with this shrine: the church is located in the very center of Krichev, and right in front of it there is a monument to Lenin, which looks like it is walking towards the temple. Locals joke that even Lenin goes to church in their city.

Resurrection Church
The wooden church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa was mentioned in Krichev in the second half of the XVI century[2].
The current church building was built with funds donated by the townspeople around 1880. The temple functioned until the 1930s, when it was closed[3]. The House of Socialist Culture was opened in the church building. In 1976, a new building of the House of Culture was built nearby, and the former church became the Rodina cinema. The cinema operated until the end of the 80s, after which the building fell into disrepair and was abandoned[2].
In the early 90s, at the request of parishioners and rector of St. Nicholas Church Mikhail Makovtsov, the church building was handed over to believers. Father Mikhail took care of his restoration[2]. In 1999, Archbishop Maxim of Mogilev and Mstislav consecrated the chapel in honor of St. Paraskeva Friday. Since that time, priests Nikolai Afanasyev, Andrei Milto, Hieromonk Serafim (Silchenko), Grigory Pashkevich have served in the church. Since 2002, Archpriest Sergiy Korostelev has been serving in the church, and the second priest is John Mozolkov. In the mid-2000s, the main building of the temple was consecrated.
The Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa plays an important role in the spiritual life of Krichev. It serves as a place of worship, baptisms, weddings and other religious ceremonies. Believers regularly gather here to pray and participate in liturgies.
Over its long history, the church has been used not only as a religious object, but also as a House of Socialist Culture and a cinema, which testifies to its importance and versatility. There is a specially dedicated part of the church, a side chapel dedicated to St. Paraskeva Friday, which emphasizes its special importance for parishioners.
Throughout its history, the church has been an important center of communication and unification for the local population. At various times in her life, she served as a cultural center and gathering place for local residents, which helped strengthen social ties in the city.
