Kremyanitsa. St. George's Church.

The town of Kremyanitsa has been known since the 15th century. It belonged to different owners. In 1620, a Catholic church in honor of St. George was built for the money of Vitebsk castellan Nikolai Volsky. The church was built in Renaissance style for the Catholic Order of regular Lateran canons. Kazimir Volsky, the son of Nicholas, continued the construction of the monastery. The church was consecrated in 1657 by Bishop Jan Dovgyal Zavis of Vilna. At that time, the church had a library and a hospital, as well as a school since the beginning of the 19th century. The stone monastery building was located in front of the church and has not reached our time.

The monastery was closed in 1832 after the anti-Russian uprising. And after the uprising of 1863, the church was also closed. During the Polish period, the church was opened and restored in 1929. In Soviet times, the church was given the status of an architectural monument.

The church is single-nave and rectangular in plan. It has a semicircular apse. The walls are reinforced with buttresses and pierced with windows with semicircular ends. The main facade is decorated with a stepped pediment, which is decorated with flat arched niches. A vestibule was added to the main entrance in the 18th century. The building is covered with a gable roof.

The interior has 5 two-tiered altars. The main altar was made in the 17th century of white artificial marble with gilding. In the main altar there is a different Crucifix with figures of the Mother of God and St. John, and on the sides there are images of Saints Casimir and Nicholas. And in the second tier of the altar there is an icon of the Last Supper. The side altars were made in the 18th century.

The tombstone of the contributors to the Church Volskys, which is made of dark brown marble in the Renaissance style, is especially valuable.

A stone fence has been erected around the church, behind which there is a stone bell tower of the 18th century.
