Description

The Sulistrovsky estate, located in the village of Komarovo, Minsk region, is one of those sites that crown the historical heritage of the country. It is a monument of manor and park architecture of the 2nd half of the 19th century. This is one of the oldest manors in Belarus.
The estate includes the territory of a former park, an entrance alley, a utility yard (forge, barn, distillery), and a water system. Today, the manor and park complex has been partially preserved. Among all the objects on the estate's territory, the barn is of particular interest, which looks very remarkable against the background of the austere manor house due to its rubble stone masonry and decorations. A cafe is open here.

One of the oldest manors in Belarus, a monument of manor and park architecture of the 2nd half of the 19th century.

The construction of this estate began at the end of the 18th century, when representatives of the Lithuanian noble family of Sulistrovsky held important posts in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. For example, Hristov Sulistrovsky was the general marshal of the Lithuanian confederation, Aloysius worked as a clerk, and his son Kazimir temporarily became the governor of Minsk and a member of the Masonic lodge. Since the end of the 19th century, Komarovo and the corresponding buildings have been transferred to their possessions.

Today, this estate heritage illustrates the architecture of the park estates of that time. The main elements of such complexes included a two- or one-story house, a park, and outbuildings.

The Sulistrovsky estate includes a one-story Art Nouveau house, a park, an alley and various household facilities, including a blacksmith shop and a distillery. Two outbuildings and other buildings are in good condition, allowing you to get acquainted with the life of Belarusians through guided tours.

The park area, mostly preserved in its original form, is saturated with ponds and canals, creating a pleasant landscape. It is no coincidence that the Sulistrovskys spent a lot of time in the park, enjoying nature.

Currently, the entrance to the manor complex is through a gate that was moved from a neighboring estate. The manor house, which was once used as a school, looks decent, but has not been restored since 1935.

Tourists willingly visit the estate both in summer and winter. The summer landscapes bring peace, and the winter beauty with the bright roofs of the outbuildings enchants locals and visitors from other regions.

This monument of manor and park architecture of the 19th – early 20th century is one of the oldest manors on the territory of modern Belarus.
